Sparrow Songs

Alex was starting and ambitious project with his friend Michael where they would make one short film a month, every month, for one year.

He wanted a site that was simple and elegant, where the videos were the main focus of the experience. This site is essentially one page and provides a great immersive experience for watching short films on line.

McGinn for Mayor

Working on a political campaign, especially one as important as the mayoral race, is a really exciting thing. But when you actually win (especially against all odds) WOW!

When Mike unexpectedly won the primary (seriously, there was not one news van at the primary party until after the returns), they asked me to redesign the site.

myStrangerFace

The Stranger decided to step into the millenium and add a profile/social networking function to their site (actually, they were working on this for a realllly long time). As they were getting close to finishing the backend of this monster, they needed some help finessing the look and feel of myStrangerFace. You’ll need to create an account to get the full experience.

(note. Many features have yet to be deployed as of this post.)

Stranger Ticketing Service

The Stranger was launching their own ticketing service for local venues. It needed to be easy to use and cheap unlike those other guys in the business. I designed the logo, layout and user interface. Fun!

Paul Rucker

Paul Rucker is a Seattle based artist and musician. He finally wanted a proper site to display his large body of work. This site includes multiple slideshow galleries, video footages of past work, activism information, and the ability to listen to entire albums and download them in digital format for a donation amount of your choice.

Brawley Banks Poster #2

Second Brawley Banks show, second poster. Designing the first one definitely made me more nauseous than this one. Maybe I’m just getting used to it.

BTW, the first show was !awesome! and Cherry Canoe wrote a nice post about it.

IQU Mastercard commercial

Mastercard licensed our song earlier this year for a tv commercial. I have to admit, I was a little bit anxious about how they were going to use our song. You just never know! Anyhoo, turns out the commercial IS the song. Or, the song is the commercial? Either way, it feels good to get paid to make music.

Brawley Banks Poster

Justin (aka my boyfriend) from Brawley Banks asked me if I could design a poster for his band’s first show.

Made with Bacon

Keith wanted a site with all the bells and whistles. So he got sliding navs, drop down windows, sliding galleries, ajax loaded content, and lightboxes. This was project was FUN!

SKETCH: SQUARE #6

I’ve recently taken up paper cutting. I’ve also been intrigued by geometry. So I’m starting a new series of paper cut dioramas that I call “Geometric Paper Cut Dioramas”. Or something like that.

I’ve been doing the preliminary sketching in Illustrator.

Blue Boy

Alex was finishing his MFA in filmmaking at UCLA and needed a website for his short film “Blue Boy”. His biggest concern was the quality and delivery of the movie trailer. To solve for this, I set up browser and device detection so the site would automatically deliver the best video format without the user having to install any plugins.

SLGFF 08

Seattle Lesbian and Gay Film Festival. That’s long. This site featured a slideshow gallery of upcoming films. During the festival, films that had already screened would automatically be removed from the home page gallery.

Easy Street Records

This was my first major collaboration with Corianton from Sleep Op. Corianton and I used to work together at the Stranger when he was Art Director. He designs, I develop. Perfect.
